In addition to our year-round programming, New York Cares hosts four large volunteer events every year. These events provide the perfect way for individuals and groups to make a difference in just one day, no orientation required.

Citywide Days of Service - On just two days, New York Cares Day (October) and Hands On New York Day (April), we engage almost 13,000 volunteers in hands on service to our schools, parks and other sites around the city.

Holiday Programs - Through our Annual Coat Drive (December) and Winter Wishes for Kids and Families (November/ December) programs, New York Cares provides warm winter coats (94,124 in 2007) and holiday gifts (30,081 in 2007) to disadvantaged New Yorkers who might otherwise go without.
