New York Cares is looking for new high school partners for its Youth Service Clubs for the 2008-2009 school year. This program provides volunteer opportunities for teens on community service projects throughout the city, including preparing meals for the hungry, collecting coats for the needy, revitalizing neighborhood parks, spending time with the elderly, caring for abandoned cats and dogs, and much more. Our goal is to inspire young people to become life-long contributors to their communities by educating them about social issues, engaging them in youth-led service projects, and providing leadership training. To learn more, contact Michael Wise, Director of Youth Service, at 212 402-1162 or michael_wise@nycares.org or click here for an application.
